Frequently Asked Questions (Wavlink WiFi Devices)

1. How to Log into the Wifi.wavlink.com?

  • Connect your phone or laptop to the Wavlink WiFi network.
  • If it’s brand new, the SSID is something like Wavlink-N or Wavlink-AC with no password.
  • Open a browser (Chrome, Edge or any other).
  • Enter wifi.wavlink.com inside the address bar and hit enter. If that doesn’t load, try 192.168.10.1.
  • You should see the Wavlink login page. Default login is usually admin / admin (all lowercase).
  • You will get inside the Wifi.wavlink.com interface and can manage the Wavlink network.

2. What is default IP address of Wavlink device (router & extender)?

Most Wavlink devices comes with 192.168.10.1 as the default. That’s the one you enter into your browser bar (no http://www with it, just straight 192.168.10.1).

3. What are the default admin login details of the Wavlink interface?

If you just unboxed a Wavlink router or reset it back to factory settings, the default login is usually:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin

4. Can I connect Wavlink extender to my router via WPS?

Yes, you can connect a Wavlink extender to your router using WPS. That’s basically the whole point of that little button on both devices.

  • Plug the extender into an outlet somewhere not too far from your router (first setup, don’t go plugging it two rooms away).
  • Hit the WPS button on your router. Some routers flash a light when WPS is active, some don’t… depends on the brand.
  • Within like 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the Wavlink extender. On mine, the WPS light started blinking, then eventually went solid.
  • After that, it just cloned the router’s WiFi and gave me a new SSID (sometimes it’s “yourwifi_EXT” or something like that).

5. How to update the Wavlink router and extender firmware?

Flip the device over. On the sticker, you’ll see the model number and hardware version. Write that down. Firmware is model-specific, and if you flash the wrong one, you’ll brick it.

  • Google “[Your model] Wavlink firmware” and usually the first or second result is their official download page.
  • If you just browse their support site manually, you’ll want the “Download Center.”
  • On the product’s page, scroll down to “Driver & Firmware.” Download the latest firmware ZIP.
  • Inside, you’ll usually find a .bin file. That’s the one you need. Extract it to your desktop so you can actually find it later.
  • Log into the Wavlink setup page. Open a browser and punch in the device’s IP. Common ones are: 192.168.10.1
  • If none of that work, check your network settings or your manual. Default login is usually admin / admin.
  • It’s usually under System Tools > Firmware Upgrade (varies a bit by model). You’ll see a “Choose File” button. Click it, select the .bin you extracted earlier.
  • Click “Upgrade.” Don’t unplug it, don’t refresh the page, don’t panic if it looks frozen. Mine took about 3 minutes before it rebooted.
  • When it comes back online, log in again the firmware should now show the new version number.

6. From which app I can manage the Wavlink network?

If you’re using a Wavlink router, extender, or one of those Wi-Fi mesh things they make, you don’t actually need some third-party app. Wavlink has their own app called WavRouter app. That’s the one you’ll find in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

7. How to reboot my Wavlink WiFi router?

Find the power cord. Plug it out of the back. Wait maybe 10–15 seconds. (Some people say 30, but honestly 10 is enough.) Plug it back in. Give it a couple minutes to boot up. Lights will blink, then settle. WiFi should come back.

8. How to reset my Wavlink extender and router?

1. Resetting the Router

  • Find the tiny reset hole on the back of your router. Yeah, it’s that annoying little pinhole.
  • Grab a paperclip or something pointy.
  • Press and hold it for about 10–15 seconds. Don’t just tap it. Hold it. You’ll see the lights blink weirdly or go out and come back — that’s normal.
  • Once it restarts, it’s back to factory settings. That means your Wi-Fi name and password are gone. You’ll need to set those up again.

2. Resetting the Extender

  • There’s usually a little reset button somewhere on the side or bottom.
  • Hold it down for 10 seconds until the lights start doing their thing.
  • Wait for it to fully reboot. Usually, a minute or two.

9. How to connect Outdoor Wavlink extender with router?

  • Plug it in. Wait. Seriously. Give it a minute. You’ll see some LEDs blinking. That’s the little guy waking up.
  • Open your laptop or phone Wi-Fi settings. There should be a Wavlink network showing up, something like Wavlink_AP. Connect to it. No password yet, usually.
  • Open a browser and go to the IP address they tell you in the manual. Usually, 192.168.10.1. It’ll ask for a username/password. Defaults are usually admin/admin.
  • Once you’re in, you’ll see options: Router, Repeater, AP, etc. You want Repeater/Extender mode. Select it. Then it’ll scan for Wi-Fi networks.
  • Find your home Wi-Fi in the list. Click it. Enter your Wi-Fi password. That’s it. Don’t overthink it. Save and reboot if it asks.
  • Go back outside where you want coverage. Check your signal. If it’s weak, move the extender a little closer to the house or higher up.
